Debrecen [ˈdɛbrɛtsɛn], (approximate pronunciation, Deb-ret-sen, known by alternative names), is the second largest city in Hungary after Budapest. Debrecen is the regional centre of the Northern Great Plain region and the capital of Hajdú-Bihar county.
